Memory Lane

Well, since I'm going to be MIA for a little bit, again, I thought I'd throw out the Memory Lane blog. Ya know, just to give y'all a few days to leave a comment and remind me of the cool, or not so cool, things we've done together. So, let er rip!!

Here is a fun little game...Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.On your mark...get set...blog your memories!!

And, when I get back, I'll show you how a family of 5 live in a 2 bedroom basement apartment....with a dog and 4 turtles.

Humm, I remember your Halloween Costume last year at cooking club. Who could ever forget that-you were very pregnant and headed out to pick up your husband from the airport. You should really call Julie (I am sure she has a picture) and post it for all to enjoy.

I remember water skiing at the same time on separate ropes at Lake Powell. (p.s. that was the first time I'd ever done that!!) That was a fabulous (& very productive) trip!!

Random memory--I remember sitting in a meeting with you, Rochelle and Haley and asking if anyone had anything to bring up and you said you did and wrote me a note that you were going on a mission!! (We all know that plans changed, but for the best:)

sorry amber but the thing that came to mind right away was back when we used to live with you and we all shared a room and one day you walked in on my naked (changing) and i was so embarrassed and told you to go out and you just said it was fine because i didn't have anything anyway....love you!

There was this one time that we went visting teaching together in Seaside, CA and for some reason I was driving, but I had NO kids yet, therefore NO carseats... You just told me to drive CAREFULLY... I don't think I've ever been more careful in my driving... :) I also LOVED Winni's halloween costume her first year. You are so talented!

I remember when you came to our house when Jason was like 3 days old and we had a conversation about mastitis. Then we took a picture of your family of 4 on our couch. You also brought a cute outfit and lime green blanket for a baby gift. I also remember when you came to visit our apartment when you and Walter were dating back in 2002.

I remember your big buddah belly when you were 2. I remember getting home sewn cabbage patches together on one of Debbies birthdays. I remember Christmas mornings when I always got more than you...of course, since your adopted! I remember thinking you were way too mature and in style to be my younger sister by almost 4 years...and then stealing your clothes so that I could try to be cute too. Then you being my maid of honor for my wedding. I loved that. I remember you spoiling Jaxynn like she was your own. Then I remember wanting to kill you OR WALTER, when you came home from your mission to marry him and then having the most beautiful babies ever so I forgave Walt baby love. I remember you becoming an amazing mother and such an example to me of patience, service and love. My most favorite memories are most recent. Cooking club (you are a great cook), Sydney Bristow, your massages, sonic late at night being ugly, lazer tag, lunch dates and most of all I love that you are my little sister and I look up to you so much.

this is my very first memory of you- I had just barely moved into the 12th ward and was in the YW. The Park Center had just opened and the RS and YW were taking a tour of the Park center. I don't remember why but you were giving a demonstration on reflexology. I remember asking if there was any scientific proof if reflexology worked. You said no and than I was so embarrassed that I had even asked the question. Than the next Sunday I saw you sitting on the steps of the church- I think you were in the singles ward- anyway and I tried to avoid you because again I was sooo embarrassed. But now I don't have to be embarrassed because you already know what I weirdo I am!

All my memories of you are wonderful from the first night we met when you were 13 and offered to tend my children to two of your own children's deliveries. But my fondest memory is you "begging" to go on the monorail in Disneyland! Thanks for being one of my dearest friends. I love you so much!
P.S. I miss not being able to look out my front door to see if you are home!

Julie...that was like 10 memories, and Kari, you kill me! And Elise's memory is so you Amber! I'm torn between memories, but the one that sticks out is the one where I had to walk out of the room when you, basically, called me egotistical when I, basically, told you to get off your lazy butt and help with Thanksgiving. You should have told someone you were pregnant and sick!! I have lots of wonderful memories of you Amber like thinking how amazing you were as a teen because you read the standard works of the church. I love you lady!

Jen, I don't know what you are talking about. I am the MOST pleasant pregnant person in the world!!

I remember you would run to Walters house from your house and I thought you were crazy. I remember when I tried going cycling with you and I only lasted 10 minutes because I got a charley horse in my leg. I remember when you highlighted my hair for me. And I remember when we went to Lake Powell and I felt like a tag along because you know who treated me like crap(to say it lightly). Thanks for all the fun memories!!

My first memory of you is when I decided what day you would be born on. (Yes, everyone out there who read Julie’s blog, Amber was not adopted. I am here real mom. )

I chose September 30, 1980. The time was your choice though. After about ten hours of labor you appeared weighing in around 10# (I don’t know where your birth certificate is and remember you are my 7th child so I don’t remember exactly how much you weighed or how long you were, but I do remember how excited I was to have a little girl again.

You loved to keep up with your big sister and tried to do everything she did including singing , dancing, baseball and basketball. And now you finally did. You are both on the same soccer team, so now I only have to go to one game. Added bonus, I get to see Carrie play, a new adopted member of our family. Sorry Jen you left Murray when we came home. I would have loved for all of you to play together. So would Grandma Jan.

I could go on and on, but just want you to know that you were the perfect baby of the family. You are a great sister and perfect mother, wife and daughter. You were awesome in taking care of our home, paying the bills and keeping the family coming home to our house while we were in Denmark on our mission. It has been hard having you go to your own apartment for you own life with Walter and kids. I am so glad you are still close by so I can get my hugs and assist you when you need it. Thanks for taking care of us.

Love you,
Mom

I remember babysitting Winni when she was about a month or 2 old and trying to figure out how to change her cloth diaper :). I remember thinking you were such a brave woman to even try cloth diapers and now here I am, using them! :) Did I ever email you those pictures of Ashelyn holding her that day? So cute!

Seriously, you can try, but you will never get 41 comments...you just don't know that many people. It also helps if you comment on this post and you might get closer to your 41 comment goal.:)

So is that why you haven't been posting lately? Haha!:)
