I did it!! I can't believe I did it!! I don't even dare cut Walter's hair, or Trae's for that matter. I finally buzzed Grady's cute little head! He is so cute! I was a little concerned when the clippers lost their charge and my baby looked like this

But, I luckily found the charger and now, for the first time, I have a bald baby!!

Only, his head isn't as smooth as naturally bald babies. But he is still dang cute and soo soo soo happy!! However, if I wake up tomorrow missing 1 eyebrow, you'll know my husband didn't approve!

Bitter Sweet

Today was definitely bitter sweet! First of all, it was SWEET!! I fit into some of my smaller pre-prego pants!! yeah!! I was so excited. I felt good, and as the day went on they started feeling looser. woo hoo!! I love that feeling. However, something weird was happening. Every time I would squat down to help my kids with something, it sounded like the zipper was coming apart. I'd check, and everything was fine. So I went on with my day. It wasn't until I finally had a chance to use the restroom that it all became BITTER! I went to unbutton my pants and found this....

NO NO NO!!!! The zipper wasn't coming apart, my pants were! Not even at the seam! So, I guess we'll wait another 10 lbs before we try any other pants! With these pants gone, and the ones that wore out in the inner thigh the next day, I'm down to 1 pair of jeans, besides the 2 maternity pants I'm refusing to put away!! ugh!

ENOUGH ALREADY!!

So I've said, since I started having hairy babies, that I wonder what it would be like to have a bald baby?!? Well.....after Grady's bath this morning I decided to comb some of the cradle cap out. It just keeps getting worse and looks disgusting! Here is the "before" picture. I had started already, but he still had a substantial amount of hair.

When I was done, the table looked like this

And, after an olive oil treatment, my baby looks like this....

My dilemma now is this, do I finish the job and just shave my poor balding babies head? Or do we proceed with the "comb over"?

I mean, what's a mother to do when her sweet baby boy

has such a balding resemblance to him

There once was a boy named Trae! Well, sort of named Trae. OK, not at all named Trae, but that is what his mom calls him cause it's sounds so much hipper than Walter! :) Anyway....this little fireball has found that he has a crevice, a hiding place if you will, where he can "store" things. Almost like a piggy bank, not so much that he puts money in it, but that once it's in there you can't get it out very easily! He loves loves loves putting things in his ears!! Yesterday I kept finding him putting turtle food in his ear. He came and showed me once, but it was just resting on his ear, just outside the canal, nothing dangerous. I kept telling him to lay of his ears, but he kept find "treasures" to store there. I thought he had given up, until right before bedtime he started complaining about his ear. I asked him where the turtle food was and he pointed at his ear! OF COURSE!! So, we called the Dr and asked how urgent it was that we get this out of his ear. I know, I sound horrible. Most mothers would run their baby to the hospital to get it out. I figured since it wasn't obstructing any airways, it wasn't too urgent. I mean, American Idol was on and I was certain Brooke was going home (but then she didn't! Kind of disappointing!)! So, basically the Dr agreed with my waiting and we went in today to see if there was, in fact, turtle food in his ear. Turns out, Trae likes to put things in his ears, but he doesn't like it when other people put things in his ears, like when Dr Cramer put that plastic scoopy thing in to try to get the turtle food out. The nurse offered him a popsicle if he'd let her irrigate his ear, so he did. And out came the turtle food!

Trae with his reward!

The doc came in and said the left ear was now clear, but he saw some junk in the right ear, so we irrigated it....and....

As soon as the nurse got this rock of wax out, Trae walked right up to her and put his arms up. She said, "Oh he still likes me!" I knew what he was getting at.

He pointed at the door and off they went to get another popsicle! I'm just hoping he doesn't think we get popsicles by putting things in our ears!! Oh yeah, and of course I made sure to take my camera so I could get pictures. I'm sure the nurse was ready to turn me in to DCFS when as soon as the turtle food was out I said, "WAIT! Let me take a picture." So I took pictures while she cuddled my boy and got him a popsicle!

Last night I watched American Idol at Julie's house. I was watching it with her kids, they are hilarious!! I overheard Abe & Jax talking about the contestants. When Jason Castro came on she said, "I hate him!" Abe was a little distraught about what his sister was saying. He started to ask questions like, "how can you hate him? That's not a very nice word, Jax! You don't like his songs?" She clarified that she hates his hair. He wasn't completely ok with that, because she still said 'hate', but at least she didn't HATE Jason, just his hair. He said "why do you hate the singers." I thought it was so funny, because she knew everyones names. They were having a conversation about American Idol like we blog about. She told him she likes Carly, and David Archuleta, and Brooke White. I guess what I'm saying is these people went from nobody's to household names...among 6 & 9 year olds!! They were almost critiqing (?) the contestants. Their mother is definitely Julie!!

Grady's Blessing Day

In our church, when a new baby is born we take them to church and give them a name and a blessing. So, at my parents homecoming (they reported in church about their mission) we blessed Grady. We had lots of family there. It was great! Here are some of the pictures we have to remember this day.

I took a picture with the hat, but in reality we left the hat off! I just can't cover up his hair, however covering up his cradle cap would be nice!

Today I decided to start getting organized! At our Enrichment meeting about organizing, I learned some new things and got some great ideas. One of them was this...

It's a sick day kit! So, now if ever my kids are sick, I'm ready to go. In it I've got Pedialyte, tylenol, a thermometer, suppositories (i know, disgusting!), a wash cloth, a rag, bulb syringe, vaporub, mentholatum, menthol stuff for the humidifier, baby orajel, and, of course, the cute little monkey bucket for those explosive moments! All I need now is something in it to entertain my kids, like a book or a car or something cuddly. I feel so prepared, however, I hope to not have to use it any time soon!!!

So, I took this quiz, because other people did. I haven't exactly seen the movie, so I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not, but....

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

Is she the annoying little sister??!?!? I get that a lot! hahaha :)

I'm so LuCKy?!?!?

So, tonight went pretty close to usual. We went to Willow Pond Park over by Mark and Jen's before dinner. We went so that we could visit with Malachi and take him for a walk. It was fun to just relax and enjoy the nice weather. We came home and had dinner with my parents, then it was off to the tub for the kiddies! They LOVE the tub! Walter bought this little octopus that covers the spout. You put a little color pellet into his mouth and turn the water on. Then the water goes through him, dissolving the color pellet and comes out his tentacles, like it's inking into the water. The kids love it! After the tub we got jammies on and started our bedtime ritual...singing I am a Child of God, followed by prayers, hugs and kisses, and quiet reading time in bed. As I was giving Trae yet another hug I looked out the window, and what did I see? I WISH IT WAS POPCORN POPPING ON THE APRICOT TREE, but NO! It was the little boy across the street, in his kitchen, standing on a barstool. I thought, "what is Hunter doing? oh well! I'm sure someone is watching him." It was comical so I watched for a minute, then I thought, "wow! that is one peach colored outfit! ha ha ha!!" Then he turned and there it was, a little naked butt crack!! He was dancing in his nothingness! I thought I should take a picture for my blog, but then I reminded myself how bad that could turn out....so I resorted to just sharing the mental image with you! So, as I sit here writing about my evening, I still see Hunter doing whatever it is he is doing...still naked!

Book Tag

I have been tagged by Julie. Here are the rules.
1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages)
2. Turn to page 123
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog
5. Tag 5 people

As awesome as this sounds, the closest book to me was my Pampered Chef All The Best cookbook. Page 123, 5th sentence reads, "Cool at least 30 minutes." AWESOME!! I thought, I better go find another close book, but I got to thinking. What good advice for me! Maybe I would feel better about myself if I just cooled for 30 minutes!! Ahhh...it'd be so nice to have 30 minutes to cool! Anyway...

I was at Enrichment tonight and it was great. It was all about organizing as we had Joy Allen come and teach us how to run our homes like a business. She did an awesome job. I learned a lot about organizing, but I also learned some things about myself. On the way home I started thinking about my relationships in my ward. I came to the conclusion that I am shy, almost unfriendly I think. I wait for people to come and talk to me, and when they do I usually say too much. Ya know, along the lines of TMI! I tend to feel like an outsider, and it's my fault, I know. So, my goal is to be more friendly, more sincere, and more service oriented. So, sorry if I seem stand-offish to anyone, just know it's because I'm afraid of making a fool of myself.

So, I grabbed one of the only other books I own, it is Mothering with Spiritual Power. The sentence goes like this "My children have taught me much about counting my blessings!" That just sums it all up!

Oh yeah, I tag Elise, Lori, Missy, Steph, and Sally

WELCOME HOME GRANDMA & GRANDPA

My parents are home!! They got home last night, and we didn't waste any time getting them into full grandparent mode! We are so excited to have them home. To see a glimpse of all the fun we had at the airport, check out BECKY'S & JULIE'S slideshows.

So, I feel like such a dork, but a very cool, hip dork! I gave in and read Eclipse, the 3rd book of the Twilight series. I couldn't put it down. I've heard some people say it is a slow book, but hey, I'm a slow person, so it worked out nicely! I picked up Eclipse from Jen Sunday night, and I finished it this afternoon, all 629 pages! I still fed and cared for my children, but probably not as well as some would. I loved this book so much, I might actually buy it, because I have plans of reading it again. I'm such a dork, now. OK, a bigger dork now! Oh well, I got reading out of my system, and now I don't have to read again for another 8 years, unless I really want to, and I do!!

Could this day get any better?!?!? I just paid off the last of my student loan! woo hoo!!
