There is nothing funny....

about a concussion. Apparently! I know they aren't funny, but I needed something light-hearted to start this post. I even googled funny concussion and concussion joke, but, no luck. Cause they aren't funny!

Anyway, last night was long. Very long. Sitting in the ER half the night long. All because Winni was playing on the outside of the trampoline net and fell, landing on her back and causing a slight concussion. She fell around 8 PM, fell asleep around 8:20 and started vomiting around 8:30. My poor little girl! I kept asking her if she needed to go to the hospital and she kept telling me no. As soon as Walter got home she was white and clammy and throwing up again so I headed to InstaCare. When I told them what happened and they saw the ralph bucket in my hand, luckily I had a cute one, they sent us to the ER.

They decided she needed a CT scan. She did SOOO good holding still! She's amazing! So, her brain looks great and she is, thankfully, hard headed like her dad! :) She finally stopped vomiting around 11:30 last night, had a popsicle...

and some water and fell asleep around 12, still at the hospital. We got home about 12:30 and she even went to school today. She feels great, looks great, and runs around CRAZY! It's so good to have my little girl back. She's so sweet!

Can we say...GENIUS?!?

If I wasn't her mother I'd wonder where she got all her smarts from?!? Alright, her dad is smart too. But don't tell him!

Check this out! This is what I found the other day when she was out riding her bike!

Seriously! Where does she come up with these things. I was so impressed!

I'm also convinced that this brilliance had more than one purpose. The main one being to take her doll on a ride. The not so obvious reason being, so that her brother wouldn't steal her stroller to "mow mow" the lawn!

All I can say is, motherhood aint gonna slow her down!

My hero!

So, Grady's first night in the living room didn't exactly go how I had planned. The plan was to let him "cry it out" so he will learn to sleep through the night. At one point, Walter decided he had cried long enough and went into the living room to console the poor kid. The moment he enters into the living room he sees someone on the floor with Grady, and Grady is still screaming. He started saying, then almost shouting, "HEY, HEY!" I'm pretty sure he was about to go survival school on the intruder to protect our little family. Thankfully he didn't start the beating before the shouting. As he started for the "perp" he heard them say, "Honey, it's me!" Cause it was! In his delirious woken from a deep sleep state, he hadn't noticed that I wasn't in bed beside him when he got up. I was in with Grady, I had been in the living room most of the night and was re-swaddling my restless baby. However, if you ask Walter what happened that night, he has no memory of it! And, I'm grateful I don't have a black eye to help his memory!

What kind of MOTHER...

evicts her baby! Well, this mother has now done it twice! First there was the time he overstayed his welcome in the womb and was evicted a week later! For the record, I wish I hadn't evicted him. I wish he would have come on his own, if only I had the patience. Anyway, this eviction was long overdue. To make this easier on you, and myself cause I miss the kid, I'm putting my words in pictures...

Something is missing from this picture...

It can now be found here...

Yep, that would be the living room, with my sweet baby getting the sleep he needs. And, allowing the rest of us to get some too! I sure miss him, again!

Biter Biscuit?!?

Who's idea was this anyway?

I'm gonna say it was a single guy without a clue! Or maybe it was a father who goes to work everyday and wonders if his wife does anything all day long! Off to the tub...again!!

LUNCHTIME!!

So, I've been let in on a little secret. Apparently, if you separate your kids food into bowls, a divided plate, or cups they like it. Hmmm....who knew??

Oh, and definitely more likely to share! "Hey Kamille, you want a bite???"

Trae

Hello!! Is there a vet in the house?? Will my turtles survive my 2 year old? Trae helps Walter feed the turtles and lately they have been feeding them lettuce, cause turtles like that. Well, the other day Trae wanted to feed the turtles and couldn't find the lettuce, so he grabbed the sprouts! Turns out the turtles don't like the stringy stuff so much. So, Trae decided to help them wash down the nasty sprouts and he went for the chicken broth! Only he got a little sidetracked when he noticed that chicken broth comes in the same kind of can as Root Beer, so he chugged some! EWwww!! Gross!! OK, I am a somewhat "present" mom and I noticed he had grabbed the chicken broth and when he went to drink some I stopped him, but still! What happens when I'm changing a diaper? Taking out the garbage? Showering?? (I do that on occasion!)
I think a better question would be, will my "nice things" survive my Trae and his up and coming little brother? As I was taking a nap one Sunday, Walter was in charge. Trae has a really good arm and a nice little kick. (He gets his athleticism from his mom! :)) So, from clear across the room, by the fireplace, he drop kicks his ball and it soars through the air! Next thing you know it hits the cookie jar and knocks the lid off, sending it into my most favorite vase! Ya know, the big one that I put the flowers that I buy for myself from Costco when my husband is gone! Well, I guess I'll be saving money on flowers from now on...

If it wasn't such a beautiful shot, I think I would have cried. Oh yeah, and I was asleep so that helped!

OK, I've been trying to find the natural consequences for the rules my kids break. It is difficult at times. However, I'm stumped today. What is the natural consequence for running over your baby brother with the vacuum!?!?

Just for the record...

I don't agree!! I deserve something cool, like speedy housecleaning or freezing time so I can get some sleep!!

Your Superpower Should Be Mind Reading

You are brilliant, insightful, and intuitive.

You understand people better than they would like to be understood.

Highly sensitive, you are good at putting together seemingly irrelevant details.

You figure out what's going on before anyone knows that anything is going on!

Why you would be a good superhero: You don't care what people think, and you'd do whatever needed to be done

Your biggest problem as a superhero: Feeling even more isolated than you do now

I'm seriously so HOT!

You Belong in 1957

You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!

hmph....

My baby has 2 teeth and is doing the "army crawl"...he doesn't need me anymore!!

Our New Home...

For the weekend!! :)

So, we got this sweet deal on this 3 bedroom townhouse in Park City! We couldn't pass it up, and we needed a little family time, so off we went! We got there on Friday night, got all checked in, and then checked out the place. Let's be conservative and say it was 4 times the size of our place...but that's just an estimate! After dinner at Panda we headed back to "our pad" for some hot tubbin! The kids absolutely loved it. Even Grady. I should have gotten pictures of Grady, but I was in the hot tub with him, so none of that!! :) He seriously splashed like a mad man. It was awesome! Then we watched movies until we fell asleep. So nice!

On Saturday I really wanted to go shopping and Walter really needed to get homework done, so we compromised. He stayed home with the kids and I went shopping. I love those kinds of compromises. Anyway, I got the clothing part of Christmas done! woo hoo! Plus a few things for myself, which I get now cause that's how I am! So, after a few hours of shopping with Grady we headed back to have lunch and hang out. Then we headed up to Park City Mountain Resort for some fun. Julie and her kids joined us, along with my parents, who brought Gwen for us and Renee and Jerry with their kids. It was so fun. We hit the Alpine Slide and the Alpine Coaster. Both are a little pricey, but they were so much fun! Winni was able to go on both, while Trae joined us for the slide. SERIOUSLY SO FUN!! I could repeat this vacation every weekend!

Then we headed back to our place for dinner, swimming and games. Did I say it was fun?? Cause it was! The kids watched a movie while us big kids played this telephone like game. Thanks to Julie for teaching us. And also thanks to Walter I will always remember that when the happy couple consummate their marriage, the curly haired girl will get pregnant!! After games we made sure we filled up this 3 bedroom place! Renee and Jerry and their boys stayed, along with Jaxynn and Gwen. Then in the morning we had crepes and headed home! Usually after a vacation you can't wait to get back to your own kitchen, usually cause it's bigger. Not me!! That kitchen was a dream come true for me. I could totally make cinnamon rolls and Thanksgiving dinner for 12 (or whatever) and maybe even start canning stuff. I guess those things can wait. However, this vacation was so fun! We plan on repeating it again next year. Anyone care to join us??? We're lots of fun!?!?

PRESCHOOL!!

Posing, posing and more posing! Winni was so excited yesterday. She kept asking me if it was time to go to school yet?!? Well, after lunch...

it was time!

Uh.....no separation anxiety here! One last pose and off she goes!

Thanks Gramps!!

For Trae's birthday Gramps, Walters dad, sent him a gift card. Well, finally, almost 2 months later we went and picked out something for Trae. He absolutely loves it!! I seriously think it is one of the coolest tracks I've ever seen!

Thanks GRAMPS!!

Chillin'

Ahhhh....can you believe that since Walter and I have been married, that's 4 1/2 years now, we haven't been camping?!?! We've only been up to the mountains I think once! So, yeah, we kind of bite! Luckily, our friends from Cali, Missy and Joey Jurgens helped us out! We headed up to Mutual Dell, which is a way fun place owned by the church! I think one of my favorite things about this place is that there is grass! I was able to put Grady down and he loved it!!

We also found a lady and her son playing some weird game of throwing a rope with golf balls on it at some pvc pipe thing! I'm sure the game has a name, but I wasn't let in on the secret. Anyway, the point is, Walter and Joey followed Sam, Winni and Trae over there and basically took over the game! It sure was fun! Thanks lady and kid! :))

Missy and I had fun chasing kids around when their dads got caught up in an intense game of throwing golf balls on a string at pvc pipe! Here is Missy with baby Will!

Sam and Trae fought over this awesome stick!! Basically, Sam won. Isn't he so cute?!?

Missy and I lookin totally hot Will and Grady!

We had a ton of fun. Only one regret....why didn't I get a picture of their family together?? Oh well, I guess we'll have to play again just for the pictures!!

Fun, fun, FUN!!!

Today was all about firsts at our house! Winni had her first dance lesson. I finally found a studio that is close to us that had space. I tried to sign her up for Murray Community Dance, but we were too late and the classes were full. As we left the school Winni turned to me and in her sweet sad voice said, "but mom, I just want to dance!" So, I was heartbroken and ready to cry. But then, I found this place. It's called Studio 56 and they teach dance and tumbling. Winni is so happy! She loves it!! Today was her first day. Once she finally let go of me, she had a lot of fun!

I just love watching her paying attention and learning. It's like a mommy drug and it just makes me want to let her dance all day long. Ah.....whether I let her or not, she is going to!

Also, today was the open house for preschool! Thursday is the first day of class. Winni had to let Ellie know she was off to school, and of course they had to pose for me!

Ready or not here we come!!!

Swimming Lessons!

Knock knock

Who's there??

Panther

Panther who??

Panther no panths I'm going thwimming!!! :)

Ahhh....I love that joke!!

So, I meant to post about swimming lessons, oh, back in July, but I didn't. So, here you go!! Winni took swimming lessons from Miss Lori this summer. She loved it and did so good. She even jumped off of the diving board!! Here she is in action...

Can you just imagine how excited Winni was when she found out that Miss Lori is her preschool teacher, too??? One night I heard Winni talking in her sleep and I couldn't make out what she was saying. The next day she told me about her dream, but I think she thought it was real because she was talking about Miss Lori a lot!!

Who is this kid??

I know Grady is old enough to be doing this, but seriously!! It seems like yesterday all he did was sleep! I don't know if I'm ready for another mobile child who is increasingly better able to get into trouble and then get away from me!!
