Best or Worst?!?

Today was our first time at the Kent Island Branch! It was a little branch in a little building. Walter joked that the sign was as big as the building! hahaha Our biggest concern (well, mine anyway) was that there wouldn't be any little kids in this ward. Let me tell you, we fit right in. It seems everyone over here has a baby every 18 months too! The majority of the congregation is kids. Which means we aren't ALWAYS the loudest! woo hoo!! As the meeting started, Pres. Robinson excused one of his counselours who is in Vegas for a family thing. He also reminded everyone that the 2nd Counselor wasn't there because that family moved this week. Oh, and his wife, the Primary President, moved with him...obviously! Then people started bearing their testimonies and it was a nice meeting. Then, a certain somebody sitting next to me went up to bear his testimony. He could have said we were just visiting, but he had to tell them we moved here and would be regulars, oh and the whole Utah part didn't hurt too much! Well, the testimonies after that were where the title question lies. What is the best and worst thing to hear when you come to a new ward/branch? It goes something like this..."we prayed you here!" Ahhh crap! really? We can't just sit in the back and do nothing? So, we are excited that we are needed and are ready to help with the work, but the pressure is on. I think we better keep the whole "David Archuleta is from our Utah ward" a secret for a while. I don't want to raise the bar too high! :)

Ahh, it's nice to be needed, wanted, and appreciated just for showing up. You are going to be a great blessing there and you will recieve great things for your service. Can't wait to hear how many callings you both get.

That's so funny. Will that be the branch you go to even when you move into your new house? Good luck! You'll probably have a calling by next week and will have to give a sacrament talk the following week. David and I were in a small branch for one year in Vermont. It was a lot of fun. David was a counselor in the branch presidency and I served as the only counselor in the YW Pres. It's so good that there are a lot of kids though!

We're in a branch too. Within 2 months of being here, Mike was put in the branch presidency. We love it though.

Ha ha ha, the david Archuleta thing is probably a good idea so keep that a secret. But sounds like lots of fun! We can't get callings out here because our records are in UTah but we do sure love the ward out here, they're so close and helpful and knit together. You'll love the ward i'm sure and they'll love you too!
